Kabogo said the critics that are opposed to Chebukati’s nomination were playing politics to derail the vetting and appointment of the nominee.

''Those questioning the nomination of Chebukati want to derail the vetting and appointment process, for their own selfish interests,'' he said, Thursday at Juja grounds.

He said Chebukati and other six nominated commissioners were needed urgently in office to prepare for the August general elections.

''If we start politicizing the appointment of IEBC chair and commissioners, then we might not be ready for the August polls,'' added the Jubilee governor.
