According to Mr Ronald Nyarieko from Nyamasibi Ward, the youths are keenly assessing the manifestos and development policies of the Cord and Jubilee coalition to determine which to support in the next general election.

“As youth leaders, we are only prepared to vote for the coalition that will provide free education from kindergarten to university for all Kenyans so that they can improve education sector across the country,” he said.

They have now asked Senator Chris Obure and the other leaders to explain to Kenyans what they obtained for the region after the State House visit.

“We are yet to hear from the leaders what they brought for the people after visiting the president. Youths are languishing in unemployment and yet the leaders are driving around championing the so-called unity. How can we be united with the issue of grinding poverty yet to be addressed by these leaders?’ he wondered.

They also have appealed to the Omogusii unity team to include youth in its lineup, saying that they also deserve a chance in county leadership.

“We need a number of slots in that leaders’ caucus. We will not support their initiative without adequate representation in its activities,” he said.
