The ruling Jubilee Party is now demanding for the upcoming Presidential election pitting its own President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga of NASA to be entirely manual.
Speaking on Citizen TV Monday, Jubilee Party Vice Chairman David Murathe said that this will prevent the opposition from again moving to court to block it's win after another defeat basing it's argument on technological shortcomings.
''We want the election to be entirely manual this time round to prevent our counterparts from moving to court to challenge our win again. They took advantage of technological challenges to object our win in the past election so we want to beat them openly this time round,'' said Murathe.
He said that the proposal, if adopted will ensure that every step is visible to all the stakeholders, therefore, reducing suspicion from involved parties.
''There were no problems reported regarding voting and vote counting during the August 8 election both of which were manual.Problems started creeping in when the results were being transmitted electronically and this is the challenge we want to avoid,'' he said.
Jubilee has already started campaigning as it seeks to retain it's position.
