A section of Kiambu men have now rubbished area Woman Representative Gathoni Wamuchomba's calls for them to marry many wives.
They have instead asked Wamuchomba to create jobs for the youth and men in the county.
According to them, the county is currently facing a lot of challenges with unemployment being one of main problems facing many of the county residents.
Led by Maendeleo Ya Wanaume Coordinator Kiambu County Elijah Kamau, the men said that they are not in support of Wamuchomba's proposal adding that majority of them are poor and even sustaining a single wife is a problem.
"We have come out strongly to disagree with Wamuchomba's plea for men in Kiambu and central area at large to marry many wives. We call upon her to create job opportunities for the young before toasting such proposal," said Kamau.
Their sentiments comes at a time there is mixed reactions from locals as some elders seem to support her.
The lawmaker caused a stir last week when she said polygamy would offer a solution to alcoholism and the street families' menace.
