Locals of Kisii have outlined their dissatisfaction with the running battles between Jubilee and Cord which they say is not good for the stability of the nation.
They said they do not want to see a repeat of what happened in 2007/08 and called for an end of the battle between the two parties.
“We call upon our leaders to put an end to the battles which we have witnessed for some time now. It is not healthy for the nation. At the end of the day we are still Kenyans,” said one of the residents.
They said the leaders should not split the citizens but unite them.
“Our leaders should focus on uniting the nation and not dividing it. This is very unfortunate for what we have seen for the past weeks. We want peace and not chaos,” said Geoffrey Momanyi.
They claim the most affected individual is the common Mwanainchi.
“The common Mwanainchi suffer the most in the running battles with police officers while the leaders have bodyguards who ensure their safety. This should end," said Priscilla Omache.
