An MP allied to the Ford Kenya party has blamed opposition chief Raila Odinga for Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula's troubles.
Ferdinand Wanyonyi (MP Kwanza) says ODM allied Senators who voted to oust Wetangula from his Senate Minority Leader position cannot work in isolation with Raila.
He said only under Raila's directive can a high profile leader like Wetangula be removed from the Senate's prestigious position.
"Our marriage with ODM and Raila is over. He chose to betray us at a time we needed to strengthen our unity," the MP told reporters in his constituency on Monday.
"We wasted our trust on him. We will not play second fiddle again. Not again."
Wetangula, who was removed from his Senate Minority Leader post two weeks ago held a series of rallies in his Western backyard alongside ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi where the two blamed the Bungoma Senator's problems on Raila.
They claimed Raila directed ODM Senators to out Wetangula from the Senate post. ODM through its Secretary General Edwin Sifuna deny the allegations.
The Orange party said Wetangula is to blame himself for his ouster following what the party termed as "his disrespect for his colleagues at the Senate".
"He has to blame it all on himself. When you start showing disrespect to people like Amos Wako, James Orengo and Okong'o Omogeni just because you are a NASA co-principal what do you expect," Sifuna said.
