Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenya (ELCK) members who are sponsoring Iterio Boys High school in Kisii county have insisted that they were not consulted by the minister of Education and TSC before transferring the principal and other teachers.
Led by Bishop Thomson Asiago they have insisted that if TSC and the Ministry will insist for the news changes let them disassociate with the church and the buildings which they have built.
According to them, the church is the one which has made Iterio shine since it started as the Sunday school church until the ministry of Education came in and took it under the leadership of the church.
“We are the ones which has made this school grow we wonder why the ministry can decide to do changes without involving us, we need to be consulted so that we can decide together,” said Asiago.
This comes after the church and residents insisted that Andrew Otara remains to be the principal until they are consulted.
On Monday the church and residents demonstrated accusing the TSC and The ministry of Education for transferring some teachers from the school without the knowledge of the church.
Sources have indicated that they have threatened to continue with their demonstrations until their voices are heard.
This comes after the seven dorms of the school were gutted down by fire which was allagedly caused by students .
