The government has been asked to deal firmly with politicians from the Coast who have called for the region's seceding from Kenya.

Kesses Member of Parliament Dr. Swarrup Mishra says security agencies should not entertain such 'careless talk'.

Speaking in Eldoret, Saturday, the MP who sits in the National Assembly Security Committee said he will push for tough actions to be taken against the Coast politicians.

"Those few people saying they don't want to be part of Kenya should be dealt with by the Internal Security," Mishra said.

"As a member of Internal Security, I raise the matter with other members and see to it that they are dealt with strongly and toughly," he added.

On Friday, elected politicians from the coast led by Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and Kilifi’s Amason Kingi together with a host of MPs from NASA said they will begin the process of seceding Coast from Kenya citing political and economic marginalization.
