Aspirants from the Jubilee Party have promised the President that they are going to deliver the region to him with more than 70 per cent votes.
They promised to replicate what happened in 2013 elections where ODM party carried the day with majority votes in the region.
Governor aspirant Mohamed Abdi while in the campaign trail in Tarbaj constituency said he was certain that they were going to deliver the votes to the president.
He promised the residents that he was going to deliver devolution hence enable locals to enjoy its fruits if he is reelect. He further said he will ensure a fully devolved and functional Ward Development Fund.
“I urge the young people to stand up and be counted. We don’t want to see anyone being left behind because we are one people that have charted our destiny,” he said.
Tarbaj MP Mohamed Elmi said the mood on the ground is pro-Jubilee, and aspirants contesting on parties not affiliated to JP risk losing out.
Other leaders present included Abdi’s running mate Ali Mukhtar, Wajir East MP Abass Sheikh, and his Wajir North counterpart Ibrahim Saney.
The leaders blamed incumbent Governor Ahmed Abdullahi for sidelining them in county matters and has not consulted any them when making key county decisions.
