The youths on Monday held protests in the area accusing the government of not listening to their demands. They accused the government of doing little to send the IEBC officials home.

"We have are holding these demos for the third time this month. We have been joining our fellow CORD supporters in Town but we have realized that the distance is quite long and we don’t have enough money to travel to town and back. Due to this, we decided that we will be holding our protests here,"said Bakar Osman.

He added that the protests will go on even after the government asked them not to hold the protests. He revealed that as long as the IEBC officers will still be in office, the protests will not be stopped.

"Nothing will stop us from pushing for the disbarment of the IEBC. If it is tear gas, we are well prepared. If it is bullets, then let them be directed at us. We are very ready. The police should know that we are fighting for the betterment of the society and not tribe," Brenda Omollo said.
