President Uhuru Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto are 'wasting' time campaigning in Western Kenya, Vihiga Senator George Khaniri has said.

The Senator said President Kenyatta cannot persuade the people of Western to back him because his government has ignored them in the last four years he has been in power.

Speaking to the Star, Khaniri said the outburst by the Head of State during his tour of Kakamega county recently, shows Jubilee leaders are desperate and are now clutching at anything to remain relevant.

"You have leaders who come here pretending to be heroes but what they do is insult others instead of selling their policies to the voters...tutamnyorosha (We will discipline him)," he warned on Thursday.

On Sunday, the President threatened to teach Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale a lesson for inciting Ikolomani residents against the Jubilee administration.

Khaniri also accused Jubilee leaders of trying to revive the ICC debate in order to win voters sympathy, after realising most Kenyans have abandoned them.

"They tried to resurrect the ICC debate and it failed. They are now hanging on NASA flagbearer Raila Odinga’s caution to Maasais not to sell their land," the Senator told the Star.

"Kenyans are not fools and can differentiate between real concerns and propaganda. The die is already cast for Jubilee," he added.
