Kisii county Senator Chris Obure has urged the Opposition alliance NASA to brace themselves for a bruising battle during the forthcoming general elections.
Speaking on Friday shortly after being declared the winner for the Jubilee Party ticket in the race for the Kisii county gubernatorial seat, the veteran politician vowed to popularise the party in the region, urging losers in the Jubilee Party primaries to unite for the sake of the party.
“Our aim is to make Kisii a Jubilee stronghold. This can only be possible if we work in unity,” he said.
His remarks were reiterated by Bomachoge Borabu MP Joel Onyancha, who also won the party's ticket.
Obure was declared the winner after garnering 208,091 votes against his opponent Alfred Nyangweso who got a paltry 4,782 votes.
He will battle it out with the incumbent governor James Ongwae of ODM Party during the August polls.
