Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has urged Cord leader Raila Odinga to step aside and allow him to make him the fifth president of the Republic of Kenya.
Joho assured Raila that his team has all it takes to ensure that Uhuruto leave office come 2017.
The Mombasa kingpin, who is also the ODM deputy party leader, said he asked Raila "to step aside and allow us the opportunity to make him Kenya's fifth president."
Joho will lead an eight-member team to manage Raila’s presidential campaign.
Although there are other teams set up within the party to ensure victory in 2017, Joho's squad will be the main group as Raila plans to trounce President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The governor said his team will work around the clock to correct the mistakes that cost the party the last general elections.
“The mistakes that ODM has made before will not be repeated. We have a strong national party with very loyal members and a popular party leader. It is time those numbers are translated into votes,” said Joho, as quoted by The Star.
