Seven Jubilee legislators from Mt. Kenya region have strongly come out to support Deputy President William Ruto in his Presidential bid in 2022.

This follows a recent backlash from a cross-section of leaders from the region who indicated they will not support Ruto.

Deputy President William Ruto hopes to be president in 2022 and is being weighed on the scale to ensure he takes care of Mt. Kenya region interests when the time comes.

It is highly anticipated that the community in the area will be generous enough to back him up considering the fact he aided the region produce Kenya's fourth President.

Speaking in Githunguri during the burial ceremony of Sarah Njeri, the wife to the Bishop of Restoration Church, the legislators led by area MP Gabriel Kago noted that the DP had sacrificed much for the stability of the country hence the need to back him in 2022.

"There have been confusions emanating from within and outside the Gema comummunities with some saying that we have no debt to pay. But we  have a lot to pay, reason why we must see to it that Deputy President is elected president in 2022 presidential polls," Kago said on Wednesday.

On his part, Dagoretti South MP John Kiarie called upon President Uhuru Kenyatta not to leave the party once his term ends but form a more formidable force to unite Mt. Kenya region adding this would enhance cohesion and unity in the region.

Other MPs who were present at the burial ceremony include Lari’s Jonah Mburu ,Runyenjes' Eric Karemba, Subukia's Samuel Gachobe, Gichugu's Joseph Gichimu, Kabete's James Githua and also Kiambu Deputy Governor James Nyoro.
