Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga has said the opposition will stand with Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho until he overcomes his recent tribulations. Speaking during the Tononoka declaration, Raila lauded the ODM deputy for remaining steadfast in the fight to better the lives of his people amidst frustrations by the Jubilee administration."Joho has remained firm and we will stand by him at whatever cost," said Raila. The former Prime Minister’s remarks come at a time when Joho is facing one of the toughest times in his political career.Barely a week after the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) ordered Stanbic Bank to freeze the governor’s account, the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) has claimed that the county boss forged his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate. The Coastal political kingpin has been at loggerheads with the Jubilee government after he accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of attempting to hijack projects funded by foreign organizations in a bid to win the support of Mombasa residents as he seek another term in office.
