Kisumu County Executive (CeC) for planning and development Barack Obonyo has warned constructors against doing shoddy job.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, Obonyo confirmed that he was mandated to give service to the county members and everyone contracted have to give credited service as the contract demands.
“Locals need proper service. I will therefore discourage shoddy job from our contractors," said Obonyo.
Obonyo threatened to terminate contracts of contractors who will continue delaying and doing shoddy job.
"My key objective is to see credible service that is not less of integrity. I therefore emphasise on credible service," said Obonyo.
Nominated MCA Farida Salim also challenged constructors to speed up in their work.
“Shoddy jobs must be discouraged at all costs. We cannot continue wasting resources on the same projects over and over,” said Salim.
Salim supported Obonyo’s intention of terminating contracts saying proper structures were long lasting which saves money.
