Deputy President William Ruto has claimed that the Opposition coalition NASA is keen to make the country ungovernable through protests so that they can negotiate for a coalition government.
Speaking in Kajiado on Wednesday, Ruto said that the Opposition is creating unnecessary hurdles ahead of the October 26 presidential repeat polls to force for negotiated power.
“We will not accept shortcuts to power. Whoever wants to lead Kenyans should subject himself to the people,” he stated.
Ruto further maintained that he and President Uhuru Kenyatta won the August polls, laughing off claims by NASA that they were rigged out.
“Mr Odinga, you had claimed you had won. Don’t run away. You have been given another chance,” he said.
“They (opposition) have done their calculations and they know they cannot defeat Jubilee in the elections. All these high sounding words they are using are mere excuses,” he added.
