Led by Charles Nyaming'a, bodaboda operators have said that in 2017, the area MP Zebedeo Opore should not expect support from them though the rallied behind him in 2013 elections.

"It is very unfortunate for Opore that he will not get any support from us in 2017. Despite the complaints to repair the road, Opore has kept quiet. This road is maintained by the National government and not the county. Opore should have pushed for its repair but he has done nothing to improve it," said Gilbert Aragwa.

John Gisemba argued that during the rainy seasons, he does not go to work with his motorbike since he fears the potholes will increase the punctures to his motorbike.

"Once the rains start every season, I am forced to stay at home since the road is impassable. I can't manage to repair my motorbike each and every time. I better wait until the rains to end so that I can resume work," he noted.

"During market days at Daraja Mbili market, bodaboda operators operate overcharge us due to the poor state of the roads. Opore has failed us despite the support we gave him in 2013," said Jane Onyuri a trader.

Locals and motorists have threatened to block the road until it is repaired.

They have accused Opore of failing to fulfill promises he made during the 2013 elections.
