The nurses have accused the president of ignoring their welfare, and urged him to stop his campaigns and help solve the strike that has lasted for a few weeks now.

According to a local daily, the health workers took to Maralal streets on Saturday morning, saying the Government should treat the strike as an emergency.

Led by James Longonjine, the Organising Secretary, the medics accused the Jubilee government of treating the strike as less of a priority.

“What is priority to them is their campaigns and we are telling them come August 8th, if they are not going to solve this we are going to show you the way,” said Lengonjine.

The nurses have withdrawn services to push for the signing and implementation of their CBA by the Council of Governors and the SRC.

This is the second time the nurses are going on strike, after agreeing to end one that lasted for months early this year.

With a few days left to the national elections, it remains to be seen if and when an agreement can be reached, with the strike affecting many Kenyans across all counties.
