The Kenya Union of clinical officers has rejected calls to suspend their strike.
The Union secretary general George Gibore said they will only suspend the strike when their demands are met by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.
Gibore said the SRC had failed to honor their pledge by making available the job evaluation report.
He said that the strike is ongoing until the commission meets their demands.
“SRC cannot hold the country at ransom. It is a hypocrisy of the highest order for them not to do their job as required by the constitution. We can no longer suspend our strike until we analyze the report” said Gibore.
He accused SRC of refusing to share the report yet they admitted the report was ready.
“We had given SRC 7 months which has elapsed. They said the report is ready, they should share it with us,” he said.
He claimed that in the report, the clinical officers have been downgraded from job and C to D1.
