Opposition leaders in Nairobi have warned Jubilee Party's top leadership of painting Opposition coalition NASA presidential candidate Raila Odinga.
Led by Nairobi governor Evans Kidero, the leaders challenged the ruling party to focus on selling their agenda to Kenyans instead of dragging Raila Odinga's name to their rallies.
"We will not allow other leaders to continue hurling insults at Raila. We should maintain peace during the campaign period," ODM chair Nairobi chapter George Aladwa noted.
On his part, Kidero defended the former Prime Minister from allegations that he had made inciting remarks that could plunge the country into chaos, noting that Mr Odinga is a peace-loving national leader.
"Raila is a peace loving leader and he embraces all citizens. In his leadership, he has brought together all the 42 tribes and in all his political utterances he has always urged Kenyans to live in peace. Let them focus on selling their manifesto and ideologies," he noted.
