The community has stated that they will not back the president if he does not give former Kenya Airports Authority board chair, David Kimaiyo another job.

The community said they would delink themselves from the Jubilee party if their demands were not met.

Elgeyo Senator Kipchumba Murkomen and Governor Alex Tolgos were present.

The members of the community accused the president and his deputy, William Ruto of betraying the community.

“We ask President Kenyatta to balance government appointments and give the Marakwet community its rightful share of the national cake,” said the community spokesman, Richard Chemweno.

Murkomen sided with the government saying it was working towards achieving the various projects it came up with.

The community was, however, adamant on stating the fact that the government did nothing to help them especially with security.

In relation to the matter, they urged the government to tighten security in the area.
