A section of Ward, Members of County Assembly (MCAs) in Kiambu have vowed to push for the re-election of Governor William Kabogo in the coming 2017 general elections.

The MCAs led by Patrick Chege (Gitothua Ward), Charles Arahuka (Gitaru Ward), Anthony Macharia (Bibirioni Ward ) and county assembly speaker Gathii Irungu say that Kabogo remains the best candidate for the Kiambu top job.

The MCAs lauded Kabogo’s development agenda saying that he has transformed the county.

Speaking during the Mashujaa day celebrations at Githunguri on Thursday, the MCAs vowed to put up a spirited campaign that will see Kabogo retain his seat in 2017.

“We are satisfied by what the county government of Kiambu has achieved under the stewardship of governor Kabogo and we are going to stand by him come 2017,” said County assembly Irungu, the county assembly speaker.

The speaker said that Kiambu residents are satisfied with Kabogo development and wants him back in 2017.

“Governor Kabogo has achieved what some people will never achieve and we are happy for that, said Mr Arahuka, the Gitaru MCA.

Mr Arahuka cited infrastructure development as key areas where Kabogo’s government has made strides.

“It is your turn (locals) to endorse Kabogo again in 2017 so that we can continue to enjoy the fruits of devolution under his leadership,” said Chege,the Gitothua MCA.

The MCAs asked their colleagues to work with Kabogo for development of the county.

Kabogo is seeking re-election in 2017.

He has been conducting door to door campaigns as a key strategy to retain the seat in 2017.

The Kiambu governor is facing stiff competition from several aspirants who are eyeing the seat.

Kabogo is not in good terms with majority of MCAs and MPs who have vowed to ensure he is kicked out in 2017.
