Governor Amason Kingi of Kilifi County has pledged to work with government agencies in a move aimed at recovering money lost by the county through corrupt dealings.
Speaking in Magarini Sub-county where he inspected several projects commissioned by the county government, Kingi expressed his obligation to fight corruption within the ranks of his administration, saying all officials involved will be brought to book.
"My stand in the fight against corruption is unchanged. We shall work with all relevant investigating agencies to ensure the money stolen is recovered and the perpetrators of the theft are brought to book," he said.
Kingi has since suspended senior county government officials said to have been involved in the theft of Ksh.51 Million from the county’s kitty.
