In a statement to media houses, NASA CEO Norman Magaya has revealed the opposition's intention of using police commander for abusing power.

Mr. Koome insisted that he had not received any communication from NASA regarding their rally at Jacaranda Stadium on Tuesday when President Uhuru is scheduled to be sworn in for his second term.

Lawyer Edwin Sifuna said that he had written to the police informing them of NASA's Tuesday rally and requesting for security.

A showdown looms between NASA supporters and the police on Tuesday as Koome has maintained that there will be no other public gathering apart from the Kasarani swearing-in ceremony.

Magaya said that by seeking to prevent the opposition from holding their rally, he was acting in violation of the constitution that allows peaceful assembly.

The opposition's rally is aimed at mourning their supporters who lost their lives during Odinga's homecoming.
