Following the ruling from the High court over the fate of Ford People party which was initially dissolved in favor of Jubilee party now a section of Delegates from Nyaribari Chache have said that they will strengthen the party.
Addressing the media on Wednesday outside a Kisii hotel, Nyaribari Chache Ford People delegates led by Chairman Samuel Bosire accused those who were behind the dissolution of the party.
The delegates said they were not consulted before the said party officials dissolved the party.
“We were not even consulted or either involved in the dissolution, now as the court has directed us to start from the grassroots, we will ensure that the party becomes stronger than ever,” Bosire said.
He also noted that Ford People would have won the Nyacheki by-election had the fielded a candidate as a party.
“The way things were in Nyacheki was not the expectation of the Gusii community, we need to strengthen our party so that in the coming general election we will have many candidates through Ford People,” he added.
Charles Nyandusi party organising secretary from Nyaribari Chache also noted that they have set measures to strengthen the party regardless of any support from the officials who earlier dissolved the party.
He added that come 2017 they will support President Uhuru Kenyatta for his reelection through Ford people as it was in 2013.
