National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga is not ready to take part in the fresh election because has he sensed defeat, Deputy President William Ruto has said.Speaking on Friday during a rally in Mombasa where he drummed up support for Jubilee, Ruto said Raila has been calling for boardroom meetings with the hope of ascending to power through unconstitutional means.Ruto said Jubilee will not negotiate with the opposition as a boardroom solution being pushed by NASA would be akin to short-changing Kenyans and taking them for a ride.“NASA is talking about a political solution to the October 17 elections because they have sensed defeat. They want us to negotiate how to share power and short change Kenyans on the impending elections,” said Ruto, as quoted by Capital FM.The DP said Kenya is a democratic nation and the only way to choose leaders is through elections, adding that boycotting the exercise is the biggest mistake NASA can make after challenging the election results in the Supreme Court.“We are very clear they cannot allocate themselves power to deny Kenyans their constitutional right to elect whoever they want. The only political solution available is for people of Kenya to go to the ballot and elect their leaders,” he added. He further said that Jubilee is aware of Raila’s plan to push for a ‘Nusu Mkate’ government.“We know what they want. They want us to negotiate for a coalition Government. It’s Kenyans who will decide on their President,” said Ruto.Ruto was accompanied by several leaders from the Coast region including Governors Fahim Twaha (Lamu), Salim Mvurya (Kwale), MPs Naomi Shaban (Taveta), Shariff Ali (Lamu East), Khatib Mwashetani (Lunga Lunga) and Former Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro among others.
