Kilifi North MP Gideon Mung’aro has accused National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga of plotting to divide the country on tribal lines.

Mung’aro claimed that NASA wants to create panic and disunity among Kenyans as the country nears the August 8 general election. In an interview with the Standard, Mung’aro alleged that NASA lacks a campaign agenda and is now using reckless talk to gain sympathy votes. He said the Jubilee government will not allow NASA’s thirst for power to split the country along tribal lines.“NASA should know that Kenyans will not watch them make reckless remarks that threaten the peace and stability of the country,” he said as quoted by the Star. The ODM rebel MP said NASA leaders will not succeed in their plot to cause chaos. He said NASA leaders have not learnt from the 2007/2008 post-election chaos and are allegedly plotting for a repeat of the same.NASA presidential hopeful Raila Odinga is under investigation over incitement remarks he is alleged to have made during a rally in Kajiado on Thursday, last week.Raila is accused of asking the Maasai community not to sell their land to other communities. He, however, has since defended himself against the accusations, saying he was misquoted.
