[Governor Ahmed Abdullahi. He has warned hate mongers to steer off Wajir politics.] (the-star.co.ke)Wajir County Governor Ahmed Abdullahi has warned that there is no place for hatemongers in his county.
Abdullahi said Wajir residents are peace loving people and anyone out to destabilize the county ahead of the August election will be dealt with accordingly.
He told voters in the county to ignore aspirants inciting them ahead of one of Kenya’s most competitive elections.
“I urge residents of our great county to ignore the few people spewing and planting seeds of hatred and animosity in our midst,” he said while speaking in Wajir ICT Hall in Wajir town when he unveiled the ODM lineup for senator, deputy governor and women representative.
“At the end of the day, we remain brothers and sisters. Let us join hands and continue with the journey that we started four years ago, a journey of transformation, development, peace and harmony,” he added.
Abdullahi recently picked Ahmed Nunow as his running mate. Abdirahman Abdikadir was unveiled as aspirant for the Senate while Barey Bulle is the woman representative candidate.
“Our lineup consists of an all-inclusive government and we have avoided the politics of clan supremacy so that the transformation of Wajir can continue through peaceful coexistence and harmony among our communities,” the county chief said.
Abdillahi remain ODM’s key point man in North Eastern region.
He is expected to steer opposition campaigns in the region whose elected leaders have been warming up to Jubilee.
