Machakos Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala has accused the Jubilee government of allegedly plotting to silence the opposition for its tough stand against corruption.
The Deputy Governor alleges that Jubilee government does not want the opposition to speak against graft scandals allegedly being exposed in government.
Speaking to journalists in Machakos on Monday, Kiala said that the opposition will not stop speaking against graft.
Kiala claimed that their is a plot to further intimidate opposition politicians who question Uhuru's government capability to fight corruption in the country.
He warned that massive graft in government will sink the country into poverty if it is not tamed.
“We perceive a plot by Jubilee government to silence opposition leaders who speak against corruption and we are not going to keep quite as a few people swindle public money,” he said.
Kiala said that it is the work of the opposition to critic and question government activities.
The opposition has been hitting out on the Uhuru Kenyatta government accusing it of allegedly tolerating corruption following the alleged Sh5 Billion Afya House scam.
Cord leader Raila Odinga claims that Jubilee government is not committed to end graft.
On Monday, Machakos Women Representative Dr Susan Musyoka got a reprieve after a magistrates court stopped the police from arresting her over the utterance she made recently.
Dr Musyoka was last week ordered to record a statement with the police after she allegedly asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to resign or commit suicide for failing to tame graft.
Dr Musyoka through her lawyer Harun Ndubi has however defended herself against the utterances claiming that they were not ill intended.
