Losers in the April Jubilee Party primaries who want to defend their seats or be elected in their new positions, have resulted to unite.Under the Kenya Alliance of Independent Candidates (KAIC), the politicians met at Safaricom Sports Centre, Kasarani, for a political declaration. The all 4,900 Independent candidates unanimously appointed Kiambu governor William Kabogo as the chairman of KAIC, and deputised by Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Zedekia Bundotich Kiprop alias Buzeki.Kabogo who campaigned in nominations using hundreds of expensive vehicles, was beaten by Kabete MP Ferdinand Waititu, who seeks to succeed him, by clinching the Jubilee party ticket. The wealthy businessman Buzeki, who seeks to oust incumbent Jackson Mandago, was also defeated after Mandago managed to get the ticket. "It is our constitutional right to vie as Independent candidates. Kenyans have decided. They'll choose leaders and not political parties," Kabogo said, after the appointment. Speaking at the Kasarani Gymnasium, he noted KAIC supports president Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election bid, despite the party separation. "Nominations will never be necessary again in the Republic of Kenya. We have separated. They're Jubilee candidates, we are Independent candidates. But we are all in support of Uhuru Kenyatta," Kabogo said, Saturday.
Various governor aspirants were present in the meeting, including Nairobi's Peter Kenneth, Muranga's Kembi Gitura, Buzeki, among other aspirants for various seats.
