Kisii County Commissioner Kula Hache has directed chiefs and their assistants to wear a uniform during office hours and always chair community policing meetings.
Hache said every assistant chief would chair the meeting in their clusters and closely keep an eye on the security of their areas of jurisdiction.
She added that they should also record incidences of youths who could have gone missing with a view to tracking whether they have joined the terror groups.
“Due to public concern over security I call upon all chiefs to ensure that they are in uniforms and chair all Nyumba Kumi meetings to curb insecurity in the area,rate,” she added.
The county commissioner who was addressing journalist in her office further said that crime rate has reduced in the county and they look forward to record rates of crime cases in the county.
The county boss added that that since Nyumba Kumi initiative started, the crime rate in the area has reduced a great deal.
The county boss said that nyumba kumi initiative is a source of getting information from homesteads.
