A Jubilee MP says he rejected a move by Cord leader Raila Odinga to join him in the opposition.
Webuye West MP Daniel Wanyama says the ODM leader had called on him and other MPs to join the opposition and seek a united front ahead of the 2017 elections.
He instead refuse and resolved to remain in New Ford Kenya party which has now dissolved to join the Jubilee Coalition.
Speaking after visiting State House Nairobi, Wanyama said they were delighted to be part of the team which has better future for Kenyans.
" We are happy to be here and we thank his excellency the President for paving the way for this merger," he stated.
He stated that all of Bungoma County is now a Jubilee zone and that it will deliver crucial votes during the coming polls, saying that the opposition is lost and lacking in ideas.
" The opposition is lacking in ideas and must not be allowed to deceive Kenyans," he added.
Wanyama will aim to retain his seat using the Jubilee Party and he is confident of defeating his opponents come the polls.
" I am here by virtue of the people of Webuye and I will go back to them to ask for another term," he stated.
