A wedding turned tragic after a bus ferrying 47 people to the ceremony got involved in an accident at Milalani area on the Lunga Lunga - Likoni highway.

The bus, belonging to the Ng’ombeni secondary school, rolled several times after the driver lost control.

Confirming the incident, Msambweni deputy county commissioner Elvis Korir said four people died on the spot in the Friday incident, with scores suffering injuries.

“It is suspected that the bus was overloaded but we are investigating the incident and I ask the road users to be careful and avoid reckless driving,” said Korir.

Bodies of the deceased were taken to Msambweni referral hospital mortuary while the injured were taken to the hospital for further treatment.
