Governor William Kabogo has urged law enforcers in the county to beef up security and weed out criminal gangs causing havoc in some parts of the county.Kabogo wants the police to increase surveillance and guarantee locals safety ahead of the August polls.Addressing locals at Kiambu Town on Sunday, Kabogo urged the county commissioner to act firm on criminals causing fear in some parts of the county.The Governor said that police have adequate resources to crack the whip on criminals.“I have talked to the county commissioner Mr Wanyanga and his team and directed them to hunt down criminals gangs said to be terrorising locals in some parts of Kiambu,” he said.Kabogo asked the police not to rest until when they will wipe out criminal gangs said to be on the prowl.There have been instances of crime reported I some parts of Kiambu recently.Last week police discovered four bodies of middle aged men that had been stuffed in a vehicle and abandoned at Gitaru trading centre in Kabete.The bodies according to the police had head and neck injuries.According to the police, the four might have been killed elsewhere and their bodies dumped in the area.Kiambu county commissioner Wilson Wanyanga, says investigations into the incident are in top gear.Wanyanga said that police are combing through crucial evidence that will see more suspects arrested and charged in court.The owner of the vehicle in which the bodies were found in is in police custody and is adding the police with investigations.Locals have been lamenting over the alleged increase in carjacking and murder cases in the recent days.
