Former Kwanza MP Noah Wekesa on Friday expressed his anger over his ‘powerless’ state job at the Oversight Board of the Strategic Food Reserve Fund.
Mr Wekesa, a point man of Jubilee leadership in Western region complained that he had been kept under the lid even as the maize debate continue to rock the country.
“You are aware that the maize situation is a talking point everywhere but here I am, chairman of the Strategic Food Reserve and I have seen government institutions, ministers, discussing the issue of maize in this country. As chairman, nobody wants to hear from me,” he said.
At one point the veteran politician questioned the existence of the Oversight Board of the Strategic Food Reserve Fund.
He asked: “Do we have too many institutions doing the same thing?”
Mr Wekesa argued that his experience as a maize farmer should be a reason for any concerned party on the maize issue to seek his audience. According to his Friday speech, his post at the Strategic Food Reserve was a trial by someone who wanted to please him with the title; “Chairman”.
