Former Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Ababu Namwamba has welcomed Cord leader Raila Odinga to his backyard in Budalangi as repeatedly as he liked but also issued him a warning on an equivalent ground.
The parliamentarian was speaking at a news conference where he publicly confirmed his resignation from his ODM post yesterday, Thursday, July 14.
“As the Member of Parliament for Budalangi, I welcome Raila Odinga. He’s liberated to come to Budalangi but he’s coming back too late. The last time he came over was 9 years ago when he came to seek for votes. Let him return, however let him return aware that the Western of yesterday isn't the western of these days,” warned Namwamba.
“The plan of the Mulembe consciousness has arrived and not even Raila coming back to Western a million times can modify that,” continued Namwamba.
He reminded Raila that the Luhya people currently have their destinies in their hands and that whereas “an army of one million folks could be stopped, he can never stop an inspiration whose time has arrived".
Ababu Namwamba was making his final decision of permanent resignation even when the ODM party gave him one week to come back to his duties.
This happens just after the ODM acting Secretary General Agnes Zani replaced Namwamba when a choice concerning the Budalangi lawmaker was passed on July 14, at a National Council meeting at the Orange House.
