Garissa county incumbent woman rep and aspirant Shukran Gure has told off contestants for her current seat, saying she will beat them by far.
Gure cited her development record as one of the factors that will grant her 'automatic reelection.'“To my fellow contestants, Let’s meet at the ballot box. I’m confident of emerging the winner, especially now that my record is untainted and my experience as a woman politician,” she said.Gure further took a swipe at her aspiring rivals, whom she said were steadily maligning her name with the intention of recording political milestones.
She added that politics was not about name-calling but selling of manifestos that will convince voters regarding what they intend to deliver.Garissa women rep race has attracted five contestants, all of whom are keen on wresting down the incumbent. Among them are Fatuma Kinsi, Mirriam Sheikh, Amina Keynan, Sahal Ebla and Anab Subbow.
