President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned that anyone found culpable of mismanaging public funds meant for the youth will face the full force of the law.
Uhuru made the remarks during celebrations to mark the 53rd Jamhuri Day celebrations at Nyayo Stadium on Monday.
According to Uhuru, the government is focused on ensuring that the youth had a source of livelihood and that is why the government had set out to assist them.
"The government has the welfare of the youth at heart. That is why it has set plans of ensuring they get a source of capital for their businesses," said the President.
"However, those persons found of fleecing the funds meant for the youth will face the full force of the law. The government does not partake of corrupt individuals who are derailing the progress of the country," he added.
This comes after the government lost funds in the NYS scam and the Youth Development Fund Enterprise scams.
However, the President assured the youth that their money is safe and anyone who misuses their money in one way or another will be jailed.
