Former Balambala MP Abdikadir Aden has assured NASA presidential flag bearer Raila Odinga of garnering majority votes in North Eastern region in the repeat presidential election.The ODM organising secretary said North Eastern opposition leaders will conduct fierce campaigns to ensure Raila garners majority votes in the region.Aden, who lost in the recently concluded general election, said they are strategizing on door to door campaigns ahead of the repeat presidential poll.Speaking to journalists in Garissa Town on Friday, Aden said North Eastern is a NASA zone but residents were tricked into voting for Uhuru in the August 8 elections.He claimed that residents have no confidence in the Jubilee government since it has not initiated any meaningful projects in the region.The former MP accused the Jubilee government of side lining the region in terms of development, adding that residents will not be swayed by empty promises."We are going to work day and night to make sure that Raila clinches all the North Eastern votes in the repeat poll," said Aden as quoted by the Standard.Aden urged NASA politicians to work as a team, arguing it is the only way they will marshal the numbers for Raila.He pleaded with the Muslim and Somali Community in the region to support the NASA leader, saying the community stands to gain much if Raila clinches the presidency.The former MP at the same time called for political tolerance arguing that the level of intolerance in the country is worrying.This comes after Uhuru on Thursday met with North Eastern politicians and professionals at State House urging them to support his re-election bid.
