Kwale County is no longer an opposition zone, Governor Salim Mvurya has declared.Speaking after a strategy meeting at Kwale Cultural Centre, Mvurya said Jubilee elected leaders and officials in the county are leaving nothing to chance in ensuring President Uhuru Kenyatta is re-elected next month."My team has what it takes to deliver votes for Jubilee. Our target is 200,000 votes or more," he noted."We know and understand our people. We want to ensure we deliver more votes for Uhuru in the repeat poll,” he added.According to IEBC results, the President garnered 43,812 votes in Kwale in the August 8 polls. His main challenger, NASA's Raila Odinga got 138,664 votes. The presidential results were however nullified by the Supreme Court on September 1.The duo will face off again next month on October 17.Mvurya said Kwale residents will overwhelmingly vote for Uhuru because of the many projects initiated by Jubilee in the county."Kwale now boasts of tangible development projects like tarmac roads and the improvement of Shimoni port. These projects were spearheaded by President Kenyatta,” said Mvurya, as quoted by the Nation.
