Machakos gubernatorial aspirant Wavinya Ndeti has said that Kamba community will not abandon the National Super Alliance (NASA) even after Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka was not made flag bearer.
According to Ndeti, Kamba community will support the NASA presidential line up 100 percent in the August polls.
“Though we are feeling aggrieved that Kalonzo was not endorsed as flag bearer, we will still fully support NASA in the August 8 polls,” she said as quoted by Daily Nation.
Ndeti questioned Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama and Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze’s role in the NASA technical committee that was charged with the responsibility of proposing the alliance flag bearer.
Ndeti said that Muthama and Nyenze should explain to Kamba community why they did not push for Kalonzo’s endorsement.
There are murmurs among some Kamba politicians that they got a raw deal in the NASA deal.
On Friday last week, Nyenze and Kitui senator David Musila claimed that the Kamba community was shortchanged in the NASA Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that saw ODM leader Raila Odinga endorsed as flag bearer and Kalonzo as running mate.
The two politicians said that they expected Kalonzo to fly the NASA presidential flag and that they were shocked to find out that the line had changed.
The Kamba politicians now want an urgent meeting convened for them to be briefed on the NASA agreement.
Kalonzo has however rubbished Nyenze’s claims terming them personal. Kalonzo wants the Kamba community to rally behind the NASA line up.
