Jubilee MPs from Rift Valley will be lobbying for nominees for the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) from the region to get a share of the five available slots for the party, Kesses MP Dr. Swarrup Mishra has revealed.

Addressing the press in Eldoret on Thursday, Mishra said they are already working on a strategy that will see at least one of their own get the chance to join EALA.

The first time MP further dismissed a notion that EALA slots should be left to nominees from other regions since the Deputy President William Ruto is from Rift Valley.

"The DP represents the whole country and it will be unfair for anybody to deny a chance for nominees in this region just because it's his (Ruto) backyard," Mishra.

"We will be lobbying hard so that at least we get one of the slots available," he added.

The Jubilee Party on Thursday presented to the National Assembly and Senate clerks names of nominees for its five slots at the EALA.

Of the 15, on three nominees, Bishop Jackson Kosgei (Baringo) Florence Sergon (Baringo) and Irene Cherop (Elgeyo Marakwet) are from the Rift valley.
