Machakos senator Johnson Muthama has accused the recently formed Wiper Express outfit of allegedly being used by Jubilee Party to cause rifts in the Kalonzo Musyoka’s led Wiper party.
Muthama further alleges that Wiper Express agenda is to have Kalonzo ditch the National Super Alliance (NASA).
According to Muthama, members of the Wiper Express are not genuine on their demand to have Kalonzo endorsed as NASA flag bearer.
“We are reading sinister motives in the newly formed Wiper Express outfit and want to warn its members that we will not allow them to confuse Wiper Party supporters,” he said on Tuesday.
Muthama asked supporters to ignore the Wiper Express sentiments saying that Kalonzo’s presidential bid in NASA is strong.
Two weeks ago a section of Kalonzo political allies led by Kathiani MP Robert Mbui formed Wiper Express outfit which they said seeks to rally behind Kalonzo’s presidential bid in NASA.
Mbui alongside Mavoko MP Patrick Makau and Machakos Woman Representative Dr Susan Musyoka accused Muthama of failing to advocate for Kalonzo’s presidency in NASA.
The Wiper politicians further accused Muthama of pushing for interests of other NASA leaders and not Kalonzo.
Muthama has been on the spot with a section of politicians allied to Wiper question his loyalty to Kalonzo.
The Machakos senator has been accused of allegedly undermining Kalonzo’s presidential bid.
Meanwhile, Muthama has asked Makueni governor Kivutha Kibwana who dissolved his Muungano Party to go slow in Wiper.
The senator claims that Kibwana is a new comer in Wiper and must respect other leaders he found in the Kalonzo’s Party.
Political analysts warn that simmering rivalry among Wiper leaders and members would dent Kalonzo’s chances of being named NASA presidential flag bearer.
