Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has refuted claims that he was isolated from the Western politicians meeting that was held over the weekend and hosted by Cotu Secretary General Francis Atwoli.
According to Wetangula who is also a Cord co-principal, he had been invited for the meeting but declined to attend as he had a tight schedule.
"How do I get isolated by not going to a harambee? I was invited but I declined to go," Wetangula said.
It is said that a harambee was organised to raise money for a school in Khwisero before Atwoli hosted the leaders in his home to chat the way forward for the Luhya politics.
The senate Minority leaders said that even Kakamega Senator Bonny Khalwale and former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo did not attend the meeting and that they will not allow Atwoli to take the community to an auction ring.
This comes at a time when the ever divisive Luhya community is trying to consolidate some unity ahead of the 2017 polls even as three of their leaders have declared interest to ruin for the presidency in 2017.
However, it is said that the COTU boss is preferring Mudavadi candidacy over that of Wetangula and Jirongo, a move that is already causing murmurs in the region.
