President Uhuru Kenyatta has expressed optimism that he will be re-elected for a second term in office in the forthcoming August 8 polls.
Uhuru who was cleared by IEBC, Monday, to contest for presidency assured Kenyans that his party will conduct peaceful campaigns ahead of the general election.
“Jubilee party stands for peace, unity and progress for all Kenyans. We are determined to ensure that we conduct our election peacefully and that we will ensure during this period, we uphold the dignity of the Kenyan nation well as the unity in the diversity of our people,” said Uhuru shortly after being cleared by IEBC.
The president noted that Jubilee party will respect the choice of Kenyans after the August 8 poll outcome.
“We shall go out with the full knowledge that it is Kenyans who have the right to elect their leaders and we shall respect their wishes."
"We will appeal to Kenyan voters to gives us another chance to in order to complete the good work we have started," he said.
