The National Super Alliance (NASA) has hinted at dropping a ‘political bombshell’ on Jubilee administration on Monday.

Speaking in Athi River town after visiting several victims hospitalized after alleged shooting by police during Thursday’s demonstrations against IEBC, a section of opposition leaders said opposition leader Raila Odinga will make ‘a declaration which will shake the ruling party to the core.’

Led by Siaya senator James Orengo and former Machakos senator, Johnstone Muthama, the leaders asked Kenyans to prepare for the grand announcement which they said will completely change the country’s political landscape.

“From Monday, the country will take a dimension that not even Uhuru or Ruto knows and will be directed by Raila because Uhuru and Ruto must be removed from power through mass action,” said Orengo.

Orengo said Kenyans will invoke the provision of the constitution which vests the sovereign power of the State on the people.

“The new constitution has empowered people of Kenya with executive authority and not even the President has the power to exercise such authority,” he said.

Orengo said the opposition alliance, which has rebranded into National Resistance Movement will stop at nothing to press for electoral reforms and governance.

The senator warned the chairman of Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC), Wafula Chebukati, against declaring Uhuru Kenyatta the winner of the presidential repeat elections held on October 26.

“We are telling Chebukati that he risks treason charges should he go ahead and illegally declare Uhuru President in the concluded elections,” he said.

Muthama and his former Kakamega counterpart, Bony Khalwale cautioned the police against using excessive force on peaceful protesters.

“We are telling the police and their bosses that soon they will be held accountable for all their actions, especially the killing of unarmed protesters,’’ said Muthama.

Khalwale accused acting Interior Cabinet Secretary, Fred Matiang’I, for failure to rein in the police over their handling of demonstrators.

The former senator urged both Kikuyu and Kalenjin communities represented by President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto respectively to join the other Kenyan tribes in the struggle for reforms.

“I want to tell the people of Mt Kenya and Kalenjin Community, they are becoming ethnic slaves and when we set our country free, you will be free,” he said.

Mavoko MP, Patrick Makau said the Government must clear the hospital bills of innocent people who were shot by the police.
