The Bungoma senator and a principal in NASA alliance Moses Wetangula is under siege after reports suggested that he will be defending his senate seat on a Ford Kenya party ticket.
This has forced other aspirants for this seat to promise him a run for his money and a treatment like an equal partner.
The announcement by party secretary Bungoma branch, Peter Wakhuleka has unsettled other contestants who feel that the incumbent is seeking a soft landing grand if NASA loses.
However, there is good news for whoever will come second and other losers if Wetangula wins and at the same time NASA is triumphant. The deputy Premier CS will relinquish his senate seat to take up the superior role something that will call for a by election.
ODM aspirant Bonny Nyongesa has said Wetangula must be prepared for tough times after showing lack of faith in NASA winning the presidency.
“Whereas we are alive to the fact that it his democratic right, we are going to treat him not as a principal but as a competitor. We are ready to punch him hard," Nyongesa said as quoted by the Star.
The aspirant also accused Wetangula of turning Bungoma County into a village. The complaint has been raised because gubernatorial aspirant Wycliffe Wangamati and woman representative Catherine Wambilianga are Wetangula’s village mates.
