Kikuyu Blue Nile Company has erected the first FIFA standard goalposts in Kikuyu Township Ward.
This is after the soccer teams in the region pleading for them as they were playing without goalposts.
The company, an online fine jewellery retailer which began in 1999, through their representative Botu Rao said that the donation was part of the company’s corporate social responsibilities to give back to the community.
Rao said that in partnership with Kikuyu Ward MCA Binary Wainaina, the establishment was meant to boost the Kikuyu ward residents in the ongoing Kiambu County soccer tournament.
The goalpost which was erected at Magutuini Primary School playground will greatly boost the morale of young team players as they compete in the ongoing tournament.
Rao was accompanied by area MCA. Wainaina urged the youth to embrace sports as a source of livelihood and shun crime and drug abuse.
He has called on soccer players to embrace the changes now that they have two playgrounds in the ward and venture into sports and validate their dreams.
The two were speaking on Sunday at Magutuini Primary School.
