Police in Matungulu have warned bodaboda riders who have not complied with traffic regulations that they risk arrest and prosecution.
Tala OCS James Njiri said so many motorcycles on the roads were either uninsured or rode by unlicensed cyclists.
Dozens of motorcycles impounded by police for flouting various regulations are still lying at Tala police post.
The OCS said increased cases of fatal road accidents involving bodaboda operators would be reduced if operators obeyed existing road safety regulations.
Mr Njiri also maintained it is mandatory for riders and their passengers to wear safety gear including helmets and reflective jackets.
